Animal PBMCs

The only CRO-led veterinary biobank combining clinical partnerships, in-house processing, and high-quality biological specimens — bridging real-world veterinary medicine and advanced research.

Why PBMCs are used in Drug Development?

Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs) are immune response cells that include lymphocytes, monocytes and dendritic cells. PBMCs are widely used in clinical research because they provide a convenient, minimally invasive way to study the immune system and its response to diseases, infections and therapies.

Key Reasons for their Popularity

PBMCs are useful in understanding various physiological and pathological mechanisms in humans and animals. The following are applications of PMBCs and reasons why animal PBMCs have become widely used in recent years:

Key to Immune Research

Essential for studying immune responses, autoimmunity, and vaccine development.

In Vitro Ready

Perfect for drug testing and cell interaction studies.

Easy to Collect

Simple blood-based sampling allows repeat testing.

PBMC Preparation

Uncompromising Quality at Every Step

At Lab4Paws, quality isn’t just a process — it’s our promise.
From collection to cryostorage, each biospecimen undergoes strict quality assessment, documentation, and traceability. We adhere to GLP-aligned protocols, maintain full chain-of-custody transparency, and ensure samples are categorised, processed, and preserved under controlled conditions to maintain integrity and reproducibility.

Contact us if you have special requests and we will be glad to accommodate them.

Blood Collection

Samples are collected under ethical protocols using anticoagulants to prevent clotting and maintain cell integrity.

Dilution

Blood is diluted with sterile saline or PBS to optimise density and prepare for separation.

Centrifugation

Diluted blood is layered over Ficoll or Histopaque and centrifuged to isolate the PBMC layer.

PBMC Extraction

The thin white PBMC layer is carefully collected and transferred to a clean tube.

Washing

Cells are washed with PBS or culture medium to remove debris and contaminants.

Counting & Quality Check

Cell number and viability are assessed; only >90% viable PBMCs proceed.

Storage or Use

PBMCs are used fresh or cryopreserved at –196°C for long-term storage and shipping.

We Ensure Quality

Delivering reliable, high-viability PBMCs with precision and care

Every specimen we deliver meets rigorous scientific, ethical, and regulatory standards — ensuring data reliability and research excellence.

50% Overfill Guarantee

Every unit is overfilled by 50% to ensure target cell count post-thaw.

Serum-Free Cryopreservation

Cells are preserved in serum-free media to maintain purity during global shipping.

Fast Turnaround

In-stock cells ship within 2 days; new projects within 2–3 weeks by species.

Trusted Delivery

Europe-wide delivery in 24–48 hours and worldwide on dry ice or with certified dry shippers.
